Jen Fellman’s Debut Solo Album Forbidden Drive is at it's core a journey. It embodies not only Jen’s physical journey and life lived between the US and Paris, but also her journey as an artist, as a gay woman, and even the journey of a relationship from beginning to end. The title, inspired by an actual park trail in Jen’s hometown of Philadelphia, now takes on new life and simultaneously highlights that something “forbidden” in the paths she has chosen, and the deeper drive and determination behind every step she takes. With honesty and surrender, Jen embraces the thrill of love, the darkness of heartache and the importance of hope.
With a unique compilation of musical theatre, old standards, French chanson and one original song – Jen blurs the boundaries of role and repertoire to tell her story with truth and pride. Primarily featuring songs about love and identity, Jen sings lyrics she has lived, telling stories we all share – regardless of whom we love, regardless if we sing she, he or they. With original arrangements and orchestrations by Music Director Bob Goldstone, Forbidden Drive invites you into Jen's world, and into a journey of your own.
